We will examine the benefits of migrating from Oracle or IBM DB2 to SQL 2005, as well how to execute this. We will also take a look at the benefits of upgrading from SQL 2000 to 2005 and the best way to achieve this.

Integration and Reporting with Microsoft’s Application Platform: In this session we will be looking are SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services. SSIS has been rewritten in SQL Server 2005 to perform complex data integration, transformation, and synthesis at high speed for very large data volumes. Reporting Services is an enterprise-managed reporting environment, embedded and managed through Web services. Reports can be personalized and delivered in a variety of formats, with a range of interactivity and printing options. Complex analyses can reach a broad audience through the distribution of reports as a data source for downstream BI.
