Printing Sections of a document in MS Word.

Microsoft Word offers more flexibility while printing. Apart from printing the whole document you can also print sections of the document or just the content you need.

Print Specific Section (s):

By default Microsoft word only displays page numbers in the status bar. You can customise the status bar to show the sections in a document.

Once the Section indicator is enabled, position the insertion point in the section you want to print to update the indicator accordingly. Then, use that number in your print string as follows:

  1. Click the Office button or File tab and click Print in the left pane. In Word, choose Print from the File menu.
  2.  In the text box enter the section code in the Pages option under the Page Range section.
  3. Then, preface the section name with the s character. For instance, to print section two, enter s2.
  4. Then, click Print or OK.

You can combine this section-printing code with page numbers separated by a comma. For example, if you have to print pages 1, 5, 7 followed by section 2 through 5, Use the string 1, 5, 7, S2-5.
